Each capsule contains 250 mg Tranexamic acid.

Indications | |
Transcam is used in the treatment and prophylaxis of haemorrhage associated with excessive fibrinolysis. It is also used in the prophylaxis of hereditary angioedema. Abnormal bleeding and its symptoms caused by haemorrhagic diseases (Purpura, aplastic anaemia, cancer, leukemia) blood sputum and haemoptysis caused by pulmonary tuberculosis, renal bleeding, genital bleeding caused by benign prostatic hypertrophy, abnormal bleeding during operations. Excessive and abnormal bleeding in surgeries of Gynae, ENT, gastroenterology an excessive menstrual bleeding.

Side Effects | |
Nausea, anorexia, diarrhoea, heart burn, itching, urticaria, drowsiness may occur very rarely.

Contra-Indications/ Precautions | |
Patients with a history of sensitivity to Tranexamic acid.

Thrombosis (cerebral thrombosis, myocardial infarction etc.) and patients who are prone to thrombosis.

Dosage | |
Transcam (Tranexamic acid) is given by mouth.

ADULTS: Usual does for adult is 1-2 capsules, 3 to 4 times a day. | |
CHILDREN: 25mg/ kg body weight, 2 to 3 times a day | |
